Design with energy in Mind The building was planned from the very beginning to be energy efficient and sustainable and the plan that was developed for its design included not only energy conservation measures, but also on-site electricity generation from roof-mounted solar panels. The building uses 60% less energy than an average Canadian office building, and shows by example that it's possible to construct buildings that use less energy without compromising utility or comfort. Larry Jones was project lead architect for local firm Bergmark Guimond Hammarlund Jones Architects that, with partner HOK designed the Jean Canfield Building. One afternoon last week Larry took me on a "cook's tour" of the building. : climatechange.thinkaboutit.eu/think2/post/design_with_energy_in_mind_jean_canfield_building/
