Food technology laboratory facilities are designed to assist the agriculture industry with the development of enhanced food and agricultural products. The Food Technology Centre houses research and testing facilities, offices, and research laboratories.

The Food Technology Centre is located on the University of Prince Edward Island campus, creating a nutriscience research node in association with the Atlantic Veterinary College, the Centre for Animal & Plant Health and the Canada Agriculture and Agri-Food Research Centre.

Also part of this biotech development is BGHJ Architects most recent laboratory housing the Institute of Nutrisciences and Health for the National Research Council, Agriculture Canada and the University.
