Garden of the Gulf Museum

Client: Garden of the Gulf Museum Board
Size: 2,100 sf
Cost: n/a

The design for the unrealized addition to the Garden of the Gulf Museum proposed additional exhibition space and a showcase for The Canada Tree (1996), a magnificent 3-storey work by late sculptor Tyler Aspin. With a louvered façade and a vertical procession circulating around The Canada Tree, the design connected the Museum with its scenic situation on the edge of the Montague River while providing privacy to museum visitors with cropped exterior views of sculpture. The proposal also updated the existing heritage building to current standards of life safety, accessibility, and building code.
