Hex in the Open

Client: Art in the Open
Size: 110 sf
Cost: $ 90.00

During the Art in the Open festival, the Architect Association of Prince Edward Island held a competition to build an inhabitable space for under $100. BGHJ’s design manifested as a semi-spherical dome structure built solely out of salvaged cardboard with mechanical connections made using only recyclable butterfly clips. The installation was designed to be easily transported, constructed, and dismounted with stackable, tapered, hexagonal modules.
